We will design and customize tiny homes to your specifications to create beautiful, affordable, high quality, functional, west coast tiny homes crafted to last lifetimes.

We're not just about building homes! We also provide a full range of mobile buildings for your home, farm or business: ask us about custom commercial kitchens, food carts, studios for yoga, art + music, outdoor bathhouses, saunas, She Sheds/Man Caves, offices, and guest suites. We can build adorable children's playhouses and spaces for growing families including teens, visitors and extended family.

About Colin Crystal

Colin has developed an appreciation for tiny living as he has lived in small spaces including: a home on wheels, a float home and various other micro homes.

Colin is a Red Seal Journeyman carpenter. His dream is to take his work to a whole new level of purpose, with a goal of incorporating sustainability and creativity together with the classic west-coast carpentry he's mastered.

He became inspired to pursue a career in building during a week-long cob home building workshop. He then joined a rammed earth building crew and built homes on Salt Spring Island and Hornby Island.

With a view to combining his love of compact eco living with high quality craftsmanship that is accessible to all, Colin embarked upon the 4 year Canadian Red Seal Carpentry Apprenticeship.

After completing the apprenticeship, Colin worked his way up to lead carpenter, becoming an independent contractor and then starting his own tiny home building business.

Colin launched Salt Spring Island Tiny Homes with the inspiration to build homes for people who want to make a difference in the world. His happy customers enjoy living lightly and thus having more time and money for their own creative inspirations.
